iContact Camera works as a standard USB webcam on Mac, Windows, ChromeOS and Linux, and needs no software for basic use.
To use it
- Lower the camera arm.
- Connect it by USB, directly to the computer rather than through a hub or dock.
- Select iContact Camera in your video application.
Which model fits which screen
Fit is about screen size, not operating system — this is the thing most worth checking before you buy.
- ProMini — screens roughly 10 to 20 inches, including laptops.
- Pro — screens roughly 20 to 30 inches.
- ProXL — larger and ultrawide displays.
If you are between sizes or using an unusually thick bezel or a curved display, email support@icontactcamera.com with your monitor brand and model and we will tell you which one fits.
iPads and tablets
ProMini is the only iContact camera compatible with iPads, and it works with USB-C iPads that support external USB webcams. Other models are not designed for iPad use.
Phones
Our cameras are not compatible with smartphones.
USB-C and USB-A
The camera connects by USB. If your computer has only USB-A ports, or only USB-C, use an adapter that carries data — many cheap adapters and cables are charge-only, which looks identical and will not work.
Where iContact Control fits in
iContact Control is an optional free desktop app for Mac and Windows that adds image and audio adjustments. It is not required for normal camera use, and it is not available on ChromeOS or Linux — the camera still works fully on those platforms, you just cannot adjust it in software.
Windows Hello
Facial recognition sign-in requires ProHello, which has a dedicated infrared camera. Other models are video cameras only.
