If iContact Control opens but cannot see your camera, the fastest way through is to work out whether the problem is the camera or the app.
1. Rule out the camera first
Quit iContact Control, then open Camera on Windows or QuickTime Player > File > New Movie Recording on Mac, and select iContact Camera.
- No picture there either — the problem is the camera connection, not the app. Work through getting your computer to recognise your camera, then come back.
- Picture works there — carry on below.
2. Restart in the right order
- Quit iContact Control completely.
- Disconnect the camera, wait ten seconds, reconnect it — arm down.
- Open iContact Control and give it a few seconds to find the camera.
3. Close anything else holding the camera
Zoom, Teams, Meet, Camera, QuickTime, OBS. On some systems only one application can claim the camera at a time, and whichever got there first wins.
4. Check camera permissions
Mac: System Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera — iContact Control must be switched on.
Windows: Settings > Privacy & security > Camera — camera access on, including for desktop apps.
5. If it still cannot find it
The virtual camera may not have been approved during installation. See installing iContact Control — this is the most common cause on Mac, and the app runs normally without it, so nothing looks broken.
Need your camera immediately?
Select iContact Camera in your meeting app and carry on without Control.
