Your iContact Camera Pro has hardware-level privacy built in. You don't need an accessory or a software setting to be certain the camera and microphones are off.
The Secure Switch
Fold the arm up and the integrated Secure Switch physically cuts power to both the camera and the microphones.
This is a physical power cut, not a software mute. When the arm is up:
- The camera cannot capture video — there is no power to the sensor.
- The microphones cannot capture audio.
- You are not relying on an app, a driver, or an indicator light to tell you the truth.
Fold the arm back down and the camera powers up again, ready for your next call. For most people, this is the only privacy step needed — it takes one second and requires nothing extra.
Additional options
If you want a visible physical barrier over the lens as well, a Pro Lens Cover is available. Note that a lens cover blocks the lens only — it does not disable the microphones. The Secure Switch does both.
You can also unplug the camera entirely when it isn't in use.
Your operating system also protects you
Both macOS and Windows require an application to request permission before it can access your camera, and both display an on-screen indicator whenever a camera is active. These protections work alongside the Secure Switch.
